Create your own custom ceinture flechee on a locally-made hand loom! Everyone is welcome to join in this beginner’s weaving workshop. We will start with the famous red river pattern, based on the Assomption sashes worn by Red River traders in the 1800’s.
Along with teachings about the history and meaning of the “arrow-belt” sash, we will provide looms, yarn, heddles, and other necessary supplies to take home with you after the workshop.

Warping, threading and troubleshooting are an important part of this beginner-level workshop. Working with a local craftsman who hand-makes the looms, we have been able to bring the price of the loom & heddle kits down to keep this workshop affordable. If you already have your own hand loom and know how to tie-on for craft-weight yarn, you can bring it along for a discount on your workshop ticket price.
