Explore the traditional medicine of Southern Alberta’s Metis Community. This walk is lead by Metis Knowledge Keeper Kalyn Kodiak, whose family has lived in Southern Alberta for 6 generations.
Kalyn grew up by the old man river and has been making medicine from the trees, shrubs & berries since 2012. We will discuss the cultural, safety and ecological considerations of wild-harvesting, and talk about how the Metis make and use medicines, clothes and food out of raw plant material available on the prairies.
